Bad news at Ternana for the coach Ignatius Abbot. The injury suffered during yesterday’s warm-up by midfielder Damiani has in fact turned out to be more serious than expected, with the 1998-born player having to undergo surgery to reconstruct his cruciate ligament. The player, always a starter in the top five of the championship, will therefore be out for a long time and will probably be able to return, if there are no further setbacks, only at the end of the season. This is the statement from the Umbrian club:
“The footballer Samuel Damiani underwent an MRI scan this morning at Villa Stuart in Rome following the sprain trauma to his left knee suffered during the warm-up for yesterday’s match; the outcome of the instrumental examination and the specialist visit with Prof. Pier Paolo Mariani have anterior cruciate ligament injury highlighted.
The Tuscan midfielder born in 1998 will undergo surgery next Monday to reconstruct the ligament”.
