Spezia, D’Angelo towards Sassuolo: “The competitive mentality must never be lacking”

We face every match with the same desire and the same spirit, this for me is the most important aspect. Then sometimes you can play better or worse, but the competitive mentality must never be missing”. This is how the Spezia coach makes his debut Luke D’Angelo in the press conference ahead of the match against Sassuolo on Saturday, then focusing on the Neroverdi: “They have an important team trained by an equally high-level coach, they have settled well into the category understanding what championship they are facing and therefore it will be necessary first of all to be well positioned on the field and push a lot from a physical point of view to put them in difficulty”.

D’Angelo then takes a step back on the derby victory: “Against Carrarese we played with the right attitude, despite the sudden initial disadvantage, but the team always showed the right attitude on the pitch, reacting and continually putting the opponents in difficulty; – continues the coach as can be read on the Ligurian club’s website – the second goal of Carrarese in my opinion is also the cause of a wrong reading of the situation, because perhaps we thought that the match had already been achieved, but then we were good at getting back on our feet straight away and putting an exclamation point on the match”.

Then there is space for some individuals: “Soleri is doing very well, but up front we have five very good and available forwards. Edoardo knows how to adapt very well to the characteristics of his teammate, but this applies to all five, each in their own way. Vignali is perhaps a less flashy player than others, but he is capable of always putting great quality and pace regardless of the role in which I deploy him. – continues D’Angelo – Nagy? He rested less than the others both for the European Championships and for the recent new call-up to the national team, but now he is fine, he has certainly recovered and in the next matches I expect to find him as a starter in at least one of the two. Candlesticks he can be a starter, he has more offensive characteristics than the other players we have, therefore nothing prevents him from returning to the starting lineup in the next matches, also because I I consider him to be a member of the first team in all respects. Bertola is performing great and by staying focused he can continue to grow”.

The last step is on the president Philip Platek who has been in the city these weeks and has been close to the team: “IThe president always has a proactive attitude, he had it last year too in difficult timesand even more so this year, and this is a very important aspect for us because when you feel like your employer, it is easier to find new energy; we are happy that he came back here and saw a great victory and a stadium full of such passionate people, especially after the difficulties of last season”.
