The situation is up in the air for the Club World Cup. The new FIFA event, which will not replace the old seven-team format that will instead be called the Intercontinental Cup, is ready to kick off. Taking part in this competition, which will be held in the United States in June, there will be 32 teams that will be divided into eight groups of four teams and then the knockout phase. At the moment, two teams are still missing to complete the table, namely the winner of the Copa Libertadores (or another for the ranking) and the team of the host country.
No TV and no stadiums
But what is worrying is the lack of appeal that seems to surround the tournament. Not only is there still no TV coverage for the event but above all there are no stadiums to play in. Furthermore, there is also a very broad front of no, from footballers who would be ready to sue FIFA for the too many matches they would play in a season to coaches like Carlo Ancelotti did for example, who heavily criticized the Club World Cup last June.
