The issue of the San Siro stadium continues to dominate the Milanese scene. In the past years, Inter and Milan were planning to build a new facility to play their home games, but in the end there were no developments in this regard. This “Meazza” would certainly need to be renovated in order to host the 2032 European Championship, which Italy will organize together with Turkey, but even in this case the operations are apparently going very slowly.

Milan loses Champions League final
And for this very reason, San Siro lost the 2027 Champions League final. Milan was the only city currently a candidate, but the risk that the event would still be under construction and undergoing restyling work has led UEFA to backtrack and opt for another location that will be decided at a later time. It is possible that the FIGC will ask to host the final act of the competition in Rome.
