As we had anticipated in the last few hours, Nicholas Barella he did not train this morning with his Inter teammates in Appiano Gentile, after the day of rest granted by coach Simone Inzaghi following the defeat in the derby against Milan on Sunday evening.
The midfielder, as confirmed by Inzaghi himself in the post-match, had finished the derby with a “little problem”, a fatigue that however turned out to be something more. Today, as mentioned, he did not train, moving to the Humanitas in Rozzano for diagnostic tests.
This is Inter’s report: “Nicolò Barella underwent clinical and instrumental tests this morning at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano. The Nerazzurri midfielder suffered a strain to the rectus femoris in his right thigh. His condition will be reassessed next week.” A muscular problem that will therefore need to be reassessed in the coming days, with the midfielder almost certainly missing Inter’s next three games before the international break. Barella will therefore not be available for the next league match against Udinese, the Champions League match against Red Star and barring any surprises in the match before the break against Torino. His failure to be called up by Luciano Spalletti for the Nations League is also almost certain, with Inter hoping to have him available when the championship resumes, as mentioned.
