There Serie A continues its battle against piracy. In the last few hours a protocol was signed between AgCom, Guardia di Finanza and the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office that allows the identification data of the users of the piece of meat. Yesterday, moreover, the readmission of an amendment to the Omnibus Decree was approved, with the proposal that wants to extend to VPNs the obligation to disable access to illegal matches.
The CEO of Lega Serie A Luigi DeServoreports Football & Financecommented on the issue following the developments of the last few hours: “Today we are recording a fundamental step in the fight against piracy. Finally, thanks to the protocol signed by AGCOM with the Guardia di Finanza and the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office, the identifying data of the users of the pezzotto will be made available to the judicial authorities”, explained the CEO of the Lega Calcio.
He then went on to explain the sanctions that will be imposed on anyone caught in the act: “Every illegal use of video content leaves an indelible digital thread that will allow law enforcement to prosecute pirates who will automatically be fined up to 5,000 euros. No one can think of continuing to steal content illegally and get away with it,” his final comment.
