Inter, Julio Cesar remembers: “Save on Messi? The best Barcelona in history was beaten”

The former goalkeeper of‘Inter and the Brazilian national team, Julius Caesargave an interview to RG La Deportiva, a Mexican radio station: “Barcelona-Inter? We wanted to reach the final and we knew that the best thing to do was to defend. About the save I made against Messi at Camp Nou, well, that night we knew we were going to beat the best Barcelona in history. Messi has never scored a goal against me, neither in Brazil-Argentina nor in Inter-Barcelona. My teammates played the game of their lives that night, in fact I don’t remember another save of mine.”

Then the dream catcher comments on the situation regarding the Selecao: “It’s a bit of a delicate moment, but we also have a lot of good players with a new coach and I know they will find their way back to victory and take Brazil to the World Cup.”

Julio Cesar is in Mexico for a game between old glories, in which the Nerazzurri Vice President Javier Zanetti will also be taking part, who in turn recalled the Treble season speaking to Canela TV: “I speak with Mourinho as well as many former teammates from the 2010 season. At that moment we didn’t realise what we had done, but the more time passes the more the value increases not only for the Champions League won, but for that entire year in which we managed to win the Treble. And we remain the only ones in Italy to have achieved it and we are among the 7 European clubs to have achieved it. The night in Madrid was one of the best nights of my life: 700 games with Inter of which I was captain, the club that hadn’t won the Champions League for 45 years. The joy of the entire city is unforgettable”.
