Premier League, Calafiori not enough for Arsenal: Manchester City catch up at 2-2 in the 98th minute

The ManCitywho a few days ago did not go beyond a 0-0 draw against an excellent Inter, avoided their first defeat of the season in the Premier League in injury time today againstArsenal. The hosts had taken the lead with Haaland, but in the 22nd minute the first English goal by Calafiori brought the match back to parity. Almost at the end of the first half, Gabriel signed the overtaking. In the maxi-injury of the first half the episode that threatened to overturn the match, with Trossard sent off for a second yellow card for the Gunners. But even with a man less, Mikel Arteta’s team – who will have to face Atalanta and Inter in the new Champions League – resisted until late in the injury time, when Stones found the net that prevented the Citizens the sensational defeat and sets the final score at 2-2.

The ManCity thus moves to 13 points, overtaking Liverpool and Aston Villa, while Arsenal remain on 11 points, missing the sensational opportunity to overtake in the standings.
