Conte returns to the Stadium as an opponent: all his emotions
The Napoli coach Anthony Conte spoke at a press conference ahead of the super challenge against Juventus. This is the thought of the Italian coach on the moment of his team and the emotions in facing a great piece of its history.

Is this game coming too soon or is it the right time?
“As I said before, for all the teams, since the transfer market ended really late, there is a settling-in phase. Many players arrived just a few days ago, in the middle there were 3 games and then many went away with their national teams. We are working to find the right balance. I like to say that those who have time don’t wait for time, every game is worth 3 points so behind this search for the balance there is the need to perform well and above all points because in the end they will be worth it. I expect continuity, we must continue to grow and not stop to think about what was the last game. Every single game must be a test to show that we are on the right path. Every game for us is a test that we must face seriously, regardless of who we are facing”.

Will there be any particular emotions for you in meeting Juventus again at the Allianz Stadium?
“It’s inevitable, my history speaks clearly. I spent 13 years at Juventus as a player, I was also captain for several years and in which we won practically everything. I had the opportunity to spend 3 years as a coach in a very difficult period for Juventus and opening a historic cycle that led to 9 championships. I am part of the history of Juventus for what I have done and for what I have given. As a player it is easier to choose your own path, because you can also decide to stay forever in a team like Bruscolotti at Napoli, Maldini or Baresi at Milan, Antognoni at Fiorentina and Totti at Roma. Then your career as a coach begins and it is not possible to choose: my career has taken me to different places than Juventus. Today I have the immense pleasure of coaching a team like Napoli. Nobody can erase history, obviously there will be emotion in returning to that stadium that I inaugurated as a coach. It will be exciting to return with the fans, because I had only done it during the Covid period. Then in several years, I hope in quite a while, there will also be excitement in meeting Napoli again”.
