Schmidt linked to Bayern Munich. The coach replies: “I want to stay at Benfica”

According to the latest rumors of the market, Roger Schmidt’s name has also been linked to the Bayern Munich bench. The German coach responded like this in the press conference:

“You can use my statements from the last press conference or the one from two weeks ago, from last month or when I signed the new contract. For me it is clear that I will stay at Benfica until 2026, this is what I want, this is why I have signed”.

Bayern Munich announced on February 21st that they will part ways with Thomas Tuchel. Yet, despite the time available, the Bavarians were unable to find the coach for next season. The primary target, Xabi Alonso, broke the bank by announcing his stay at Bayer Leverkusen. Plan B represented by Julian Nagelsmann, who renewed with the German Football Federation, and plan C, Ralf Rangnick, who decided to remain at the helm of the Austrian national team, also failed. An unprecedented situation for a club that has always had its strong point in programming.
