The Penybont shocked Welsh Premier League reigning champions The New Saints – who face Fiorentina in the Conference League – by ending their 30-game unbeaten run in the league with a 2-1 win. Headers from Clayton Green and Chris Venables, plus a strike from Adam Wilson, gave the hosts their first ever win over Craig Harrison’s side.
On the other hand, the visitors suffered their first league defeat since January 2023. A deserved victory, however, for Penybont who thus declared their intentions to seriously compete for the end-of-season title.
