Udinese, Lovric: “Barella plays at an indescribable level. Lucca is strong and can still grow”

During the long interview granted to Allsports, Sandi LovricUdinese midfielder, spends words of praise for Nicholas Barellathe player who impressed him the most in Serie A: “In my role there is Barella who is playing at an indescribable level. When I face him I always try to steal something from him…”.

After almost three years in Italy, do you feel like a leader of this Udinese?
“Yes, we can say that, but there are others, starting with the captain, Thauvin. Flo makes the pitch talk. We are happy to be able to count on him, he is a driving force. As far as I am concerned, I try to set an example for the younger players with my daily work and with my professionalism. When I see that they are in need, I have a chat with them to try to help them.”

Speaking of youngsters, the club has bought out your top scorer from last season, Lorenzo Lucca. Given his ability to serve his teammates, have you already agreed on a reward if he can provide them with some assists? I don’t know, maybe a dinner…
“A dinner is not enough, I expect more (laughs). Jokes aside, if I can help him score I’m the first to be happy. He’s a very strong striker, but he can still grow, like all of us. The important thing is to work calmly, slowly”.
