The Torino coach, Paul Vanolipresented the next challenge against Hellas Verona today in a press conference. This is his thought on Maripan: “He is a player with experience and personality, even if he is not in optimal condition. It is normal for those who have arrived at the end of the market, but they are all ready to play. Maripan, as happens with Pedersen and Sosa, needs time to get to the mechanisms. But at the same time we think about the results: Maripan, if he starts, has the experience to make a contribution”.
How long does it take to understand what kind of championship Toro can play?
“There is no time. We have to work and think game by game: a new process has begun, after coming from a three-year methodology it takes time. And sometimes a coach has little time, you saw it: I try to make things fit together, I don’t get excited after Atalanta and I don’t get down after Lecce. It’s part of the process, a bit like what happens with workloads, and there are ups and downs”.
Vanja talked about Europe: as a team, are you in the top seven in the standings?
“I’m happy to hear one of my players taking on these responsibilities. A coach says that we have to prove it on the pitch: we are in a phase of growth as a player and as men, we are recovering and we have to introduce the new ones. There will be a lot of work”.
