It is with the official note that we report below in full, that the Salerno announces that it is “once again relying on the twelfth man. Numbers and decibels have confirmed that the Arechi stadium is always at the side of the Granata with passion and warmth, regardless of the results, even on an afternoon like last Sunday, in which the delay in the start time of the match (caused by a technical problem not attributable to the club, nor to the municipal administration of Salerno. A clarification is required: the decision to postpone the match by a few hours was taken by mutual agreement between Lega Serie B and representatives of the Salernitana and Pisa clubs) inevitably caused inconvenience to everyone.
In this regard, it is specified that the exit of a single spectator from the facility during the time in which the new time of the match was awaited would have inevitably resulted in the failure to enter the stadium again, in compliance with the safety regulations in force throughout Italy. In compliance with the regulations for the use of the Arechi stadium, which in point c provides for exceptions strictly for reasons of an urgent nature subject to authorization from the designated security personnel, US Salernitana 1919 specifies that it granted numerous exceptions on Sunday 15 September, with authorization from those responsible for security and the Police Headquarters (e.g. collection of medicines).
At the same time, with bitterness US Salernitana 1919 was forced to apply the sanctions provided for by the Code of Ethics of Conduct against some supporters who in these first seasonal matches were the protagonists of serious violations of the same. In the last races, in fact, several people have been caught in possession of reduced-rate tickets for Under 14s, purchased by falsifying the user’s real date of birth to improperly benefit from discounted prices. The club has prescribed a five-match ban for those responsible and will protect itself in the appropriate venues. The same goes for a handful of people who attempted to re-enter the stadium, after having gained the exit, by climbing over the fences in a dangerous and unauthorized manner. In recent weeks, individuals who have been responsible for serious acts have been blacklisted for the entire sports season. (e.g. throwing objects onto the pitch) and warnings were issued to spectators who improperly occupied the yellow stairs, which must always remain clear for safety reasons. Interventions in this sense, as well as to leave escape routes clear, were also not lacking during Salernitana-Pisa.
The club will continue to monitor through its stewards and safety delegates, trusting in the civic sense and maturity of its fans: together we can make the Arechi stadium, as far as it is within its competence, a place as safe as possible and in which to spend healthy days of sport while respecting the values of football, the rules and others”.
