Away shirt chaos, Akanji: “I got confused in one action, I passed the ball to the referee”

A draw that was too tight for both Inter and Manchester City, the one sealed yesterday at the Etihad Stadium in the European debut of the season. Manuel Akanjidefender of the Sky Blues, analyzed the match at the end of the 0-0 draw in the replayed clash against the Nerazzurri and then focused on a not insignificant detail on the pitch: the playing uniforms.

In this case, despite playing at home, City showed off a new and exclusive Oasis inspired away shirt. The legendary Manchester rock and roll band recently announced that the group – fronted by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, fanatics of Guardiola’s team – are getting back together and the club has put its foot down. A t-shirt that however caused some confusion during the match against Simone Inzaghi’s crew.

The statement. “I like it a lot. I had already seen it before taking part in the filming, when we made it for Puma”, the Swiss defender began to the microphones of beIN SPORTS. Except to later reveal: “In one action I got confused with the referee on the sidelines, I thought it was Bernardo (Silva, ed.) and I passed him the ball. But apart from that I really like the kit and I can’t wait to play with it more”.

City debuted their new fourth shirt against Inter and it was inspired by the 30th Anniversary of Oasis’ Debut Album “Definitely Maybe”. For the launch of the kit, Noel Gallagher previously celebrated the collaboration: “It’s a real honor. When the guys at PUMA reached out to us during one of the games, it took me about five seconds to say yes.”
