Guardiola praises Inter: “On Wednesday we will play against the best team in Italy”

Pep Guardiolacoach of the ManCityhe returned to talk about theInter in a press conference after the 2-1 victory over Brentford on Saturday, which increased the confidence of a team that was apparently almost unbeatable: “We will challenge the best team in Italy, who won the championship by a wide margin. Next Sunday we will then find our best opponent in the Premier League”.

Will Savinho be there?
“It just feels like a cramp, that’s what he said. But I haven’t talked to the doctor, we’ll see…”

He found Foden again.
“I’m happy he’s back! I need him, we desperately need him. This player is so important to us. He feels good, he hasn’t had too many training sessions. Step by step… It’s important that he has started training. The game against Brentford was tight and I decided on other options.”

And Rodri too.
“He’s so important for us… He played really well on Saturday. He was injured, he played a few minutes against Spain and we thank them very much for not playing many minutes. Today he played his first 45 minutes, I asked him how he felt and he said he was fine.”

Kovacic didn’t do badly either.
“It’s been incredible, and when Rodri can’t play, Kova is there: we need him. It’s important that Gundo got extra minutes and Kyle (Walker, ed.) got his first minutes, as well as John (Stones, ed.). It’s really nice to have that.”

What do you think of the new Champions League?
“There are more games, but it is what it is! What can we do? It doesn’t matter. We have an academy and we’ll draw from there, but that’s it. We just adapt and go! I like playing the Champions League, honestly. And we’ll play it! I have no opinion on that; they’ve decided to do it and we’ll play two more games. I have no opinion. UEFA decided it and we want to be there, so we’ll play that format.”
