The challenge at the “Sinigaglia” between Como and Bologna ends in a draw. The Felsinei, down 0-2, found the necessary momentum to catch up with the score at 2-2.
The technicians’ choices
Cesc Fabregas lines up his team with a 4-2-3-1 with Cutrone up front supported by Strefezza, Paz and Fadera while in midfield Sergi Roberto plays alongside Perrone. In goal there is space for Audero with Iovine on the right, Moreno on the left and the central pairing formed by Dossena and Kempf. Vincenzo Italiano relies on the 4-3-3 with Dallinga as the offensive terminal supported on the sides by Orsolini and Odgaard. In midfield with Aebischer there are Freuler and Pobega while in defense to protect Skorupski’s goal Posch plays on the right, Beukema and Casale in the center and Miranda on the left.
An own goal unlocks it
The Lariani start off strong and after just four minutes they break the deadlock with a through ball on the left side of the area for Cutrone who tries a cross that is deflected into his own net by Nicolò Casale. Nothing doing for Skorupski. The Emilians respond with a recovery by Orsolini on the right side of the pitch. The striker converges and unleashes a left-footed shot that ends just wide. In the 25th minute the rossoblù try with a long-distance shot by Odgaard that ends well above the crossbar. Two minutes after the half hour mark, Como has the chance to strike on the counterattack with Cutrone who enters the area but finds the wall of Casale who redeems the fortuitous own goal at the start. On the developments of the corner, Dossena jumps higher than everyone else and heads it but it goes just wide. Cutrone comes close to scoring again with a brilliant suggestion from Paz, his lob ends just wide of the pitch.
Como extends lead, Bologna catches up
In the second half, Como extended the lead with Cutrone who, launched by a chested shot from Paz, entered the area and beat Skorupski at the far post. A few moments with bated breath due to a malfunction between the VAR room and the pitch but in the end Piccinini correctly indicated the centre of the pitch. The home team found space to strike but were unable to round off the score first with Strefezza and then with Fadera, who was also in an offside position. Bologna could have gotten back into the game with Fabbian but his conclusion was too weak and easy prey for Audero. With twenty minutes to go, the rossoblù came to life with Pobega but his conclusion from distance hit the post. Bologna reopened the game with Odgaard who shot but was fortuitously deflected by Goldaniga. The quickest was Castro who beat Audero. In injury time, Iling Jr’s gem arrived, curling the ball from the right side of the area and putting the ball in the corner.
