Ahmedhodzic leaves Bosnian national team, father accuses daughter-in-law: “She uses black magic”

Anel Ahmedhodziccentral defender for Sheffield United and the Bosnian national team, has announced that he will no longer play for his country due to the insults he received on social media. A choice that many players, at a certain point in their career, make with great regret but which in this case takes on “sinister” overtones, given that the footballer’s father has accused his daughter-in-law of using black magic to keep Anel away from professional football and therefore also from his commitments with the national team.

The 25-year-old reacted strongly to his father’s statements: “He did horrible things to the person I love. The only thing you expect from a father is support and pride. Unfortunately, I got very little of that. He always attacks the people I care about whenever something goes wrong,” he said in an interview with N1. He later also announced that he no longer has contact with his father, who he accused of “manipulation, lying, deceit and intimidation.”

Likewise, the footballer did not hide his indignation at the accusations of black magic leveled against his partner: “I have a very strong faith in Allah and he can never take that away from me. I will do everything in my power to protect my family and the people I love from evil individuals like him. Saying that my wife has done black magic is an insult to me and to those I love.”

The decision to leave Bosnia, with whom he played 24 games: “This last week has been devastating. I have received thousands of messages with insults and threats. I played for my people, but now things have changed”.
