Balotelli looking for a team: “I’d like to stay in Italy. National team? I don’t think about it”

Without a team or a contract, Mario Balotelli is currently training in Castegnato, in the province of Brescia, waiting for a good opportunity. SuperMario who in recent days is said to have been rejected by an Indian club is training with his lifelong friend Simone Ghezzi, now in the First Category after years in Serie C, and with the young goalkeeper Alberto Rizzi, 16, guardian of the goal of Desenzano. “I’m here because it’s my job. It’s my life. I want to be ready”, he told the notebooks of ‘La Repubblica’ before the training session.

Having turned thirty-four last August, Balotelli has been without a team since July, when his contract with Adana Demirspor expired. His last season in Turkey with sixteen appearances and seven goals ended with a red card that forced him to miss the last two days of the championship. But now, after a long wandering around Europe, the 1990-born striker hopes to stay in Italy. “I would really like to stay in Italy this time”.

More than 200 career goals, Balotelli also has fourteen goals to his name with the national team and his name cyclically comes back into fashion when Italy’s attack is in difficulty: “What matters to me is to get back to playing, I’m not thinking about the national team”.
