Final result: Israel-Italy 1-2
Israel’s report cards (edited by Filippo D’Angelo)
Geraphi 6 – Probably the best on the pitch for Israel. Not to blame for the goals, he responds present on some occasions while still demonstrating attention and reactivity.
Jehezkel 5 – Dealing with Dimarco is certainly not an easy task for him, who has given the Inter defender plenty of room. In the second half he even has the chance to beat Donnarumma but misses a sensational goal.
Nachimias 5.5 – Kean made it a really difficult evening for him, as he often confused him. He also suffers from pressure and the insertions of midfielders, such as Frattesi.
Shlomo 5.5 – The other centre-back also fails to shine in a difficult evening for Israel, who were unable to avoid defeat against the Azzurri.
Revive 5.5 – The duel with Bellanova is one of the most lively of the match. He tries to defend himself, even winning a few duels, but overall the confrontation is won by the Italian winger.
Abada 5.5 – In the control room he is certainly more proactive than his colleague in the department but, in general, he does not offer a top-level performance. From 78′ David sv
Kanichowsky 5.5 – He tries to work in both phases but he is not so brilliant and precise, giving the Azzurri several opportunities. From 67′ Abu Fani 6 – With time almost up, he scared Italy, scoring the final 1-2 with a fine right-footed shot into the corner.
Wash 5.5 – He loses too many duels and leaves too much room for maneuver to the Italian players. From 46′ Jaber 5.5 – Not a memorable entrance from him. He also gets a yellow card at the match gong.
Perez 5.5 – He triggers the best move of the whole match for Israel but, apart from this flash, he offers very little in the three-quarter line. From 67′ Saffron 5.5 – He enters a difficult situation and is unable to make himself useful to avoid the knockout
Solomon 5.5 – He wanders around aimlessly on the wing and is not inspired in attack, despite a few timid attempts.
Khalaili 5 – Not an exciting first half for the striker, who did not make an impact thanks to an excellent defensive organization by Italy. From 46′ Gloukh 5 – He loses a bloody ball in the middle of the second half, which effectively paves the way for Frattesi and the subsequent doubling of the Azzurri goal scored by Kean.
Ran Ben Simon 5.5 – His team almost held out for a half but made some decisive and certainly avoidable errors.
Italy’s report cards (edited by Raimondo De Magistris)
Donnarumma 6.5 – He responds with reactivity and character to a few too many chances created by Israel at the start of the second half. Great save in the 64th minute on the deflection of Jehezkel, but he can do nothing about the goal at the end of Abu Fani.
Cats 6 – Compared to Di Lorenzo’s latest outings, no glaring blunders. He is not always precise in his interventions, but with his roughness he always manages to limit the damage. Definitely naive on the occasion of the yellow card received in the 73rd minute.
Good morning 6 – He plays as a central defender, but sometimes he also finds himself on the center-left. A more complicated evening than expected: when Israel plays phrases, they don’t always have an easy time in the markings.
Sticks 6.5 – Spalletti confirms him from the first minute and the response is another good performance. Moved to the center-left he has license to attack and often and willingly triangulates with Dimarco to create numerical superiority.
Bellanova 6 – Spalletti finally gives him a chance, but then he calls him back on the pitch continuously. The result is a Bellanova that is a bit sluggish, uncertain. The feeling between the Atalanta full-back and the CT struggles to click. From the 63rd Cambiaso 6 – He contributed to the defensive phase in the final half hour of the match.
Frattesi 8 – Six goals in 15 games with Spalletti CT, he is now a certainty in the goal area. With an unprecedented chest shot he unlocks a match that until that moment was more balanced than expected. Then, not content, he steals the ball in the middle of the field from which the doubling comes.
Curls 6.5 – Another performance of personality in front of the defense: when Italy restarts they systematically go in search of the ball. From the 86th Zaccagni sv
Tonal 6.5 – Two games in 72 hours is probably too much for a player who had just returned to the field with Newcastle after a ten-month break, but he doesn’t hold back. A normal performance in the first half, a little more in the second half.
Dimarco 7 – After the goal from soccer dance of the Parc des Princes also made the difference tonight with the assist for Frattesi. Spalletti does not give up on it and he does well: when he is in form, he is one of the most important players of this national team. From the 71st Udogie 6 – He mainly deals with the defensive phase.
Raspadori 6.5 – Second striker but also attacking midfielder, he plays to not give reference points and he does it quite well. Not as incisive as Friday night, but he actively participates in the two goals that decided the match. From the 63rd Brescianini 6 – Get right into the heart of the game.
Kean 7 – The lead action develops thanks to his excellent protection of the ball. Patient, precise, in the 63rd minute he is in the right place at the right time and scores the double for the Azzurri. From the 86th Retegui sv
Luciano Spalletti 7 – He retraced his steps, admitted his mistakes and in these two games he gave life to a new Italy that now knows which direction it must move in. After the disastrous European Championship, a more encouraging restart could not have been imagined.
