Lorenzo Lucca, the first Italian at Ajax. Called for the season of consecration

Lorenzo Lucca has opened a season. That of the Italians at Ajaxthe Amsterdam club that had never had one before his arrival, in the summer of 2022, when he was taken on loan with the right to buy from Pisa. However, his experience in the Eredivisie did not go very well. Only two goals in the league with the first team (and two in the Eerste Divisie) when a few months earlier there was even talk of the national team. Now in red and white there are Rugani and Farioli, hoping that the footsteps are perhaps better.

It must be said that forwards like Lucca mature later. Like Luca Toni who at 25 years old had managed to reach double figures with Brescia, 13 goals. But then he scored two the following season, effectively handing him Palermo, in Serie B, returning to Serie A at 27 and ready to finally change the course of his history. Lucca came close last season with 8 goals in 37 games and is already at one goal in two games with the Udinese jersey this year.

Needless to say, this is the year of consecration for someone who, at least in terms of height, has been compared to Peter Crouch and had a poster of Ibrahimovic in his bedroom, hoping to emulate his feats. He has already played for Ajax, even if things didn’t go as well as his idol. However, it’s still early and satisfactions could really be just around the corner. Today Lorenzo Lucca turns 24.
