Present at the press conference alongside the French coach Didier Deschamps, today in Paris in view of tomorrow evening’s match against Spalletti’s Italy, was Kylian Mbappe who spoke to journalists in view of the match:
How do you rate this Nations League?
“For us there is nothing more important than the French national team, we have already won this competition and there was no extraordinary reaction. Instead, when we lost it seemed like the end of the world… I don’t know what to say: it’s a match and you simply have to win. We won in Milan and at the end of the match I didn’t even feel like we had won a trophy. Instead, before the 2022 World Cup we lost it and everyone criticized us and said: ‘What a shame…’. It’s important to start this competition off on the right foot and win the match.”
What do you think of this Italy? Have you already spoken with your former teammate Gigio Donnarumma?
“No, I’ll talk to them tonight. Italy didn’t play well, but we didn’t play well either. Italy is still one of the best teams and France-Italy is still one of the most followed matches. They have great quality players and we are preparing for their best version just as we will try to show our best version.”
