Osimhen-Galatasaray, the summer soap opera is about to end. Napoli can extend his contract

The transfer market soap opera that has interested all football fans during the summer is coming to an end. Victor Osimhen is arriving in Istanbul, where Galatasaray and its fans, already crazy about the new centre-forward, will be waiting for him. The agreement between the Turks and Napoli is certainly not the cheapest: the Giallorossi club will get the Nigerian’s eleven million emoluments, while Napoli will have the opportunity to postpone the thorny issue regarding the future of the former Lille player to ten months from now.

The two clubs have in fact finalised the transfer of the Nigerian centre forward, who will join the Turkish club on a dry loan (the Turkish club itself confirmed this), with his salary completely covered by the Gala. First, however, the renewal with the Azzurri, who will extend the current contract – already recently renewed – bringing it to 2027. The welcome that is expected seems to be that of the great champions: the Galatasaray fans, in fact, are already preparing the welcoming committee. About 50 thousand supporters of the Turkish club at the airport waiting for the new striker, who says goodbye to Conte and Aurelio De Laurentiis to go and join Mauro Icardi and Dries Mertens.

Let’s remember that the market in Turkey closes on September 13, in Istanbul the Nigerian will meet again – among others – a former Azzurri player like Dries Mertens, with whom he was a teammate at Napoli from 2020 to 2022. Victor would pair up in attack with Mauro Icardi, another old acquaintance of Serie A. During the summer session just ended – at least as far as the main European markets are concerned, starting with the Italian one – Osimhen had been mainly treated by Chelsea and the Saudis of Al-Ahli, without however arriving at the white smoke. Which seems much closer in the case of Galatasaray.
