The ‘Corriere dello Sport’ on newsstands today reveals a behind-the-scenes story regarding the summer of Michael Folorunshomidfielder of the Naples who after having renewed with the Neapolitans for five seasons was put up for sale and until the end was in negotiations with Lazio. However, the agreement between the two clubs was never reached and for this reason Folorunsho was only included in the squad delivered to Lega Serie A yesterday, with the closing of the summer transfer market session.
But even before dealing with Lazio, Folorunsho – we read – was one step away from a transfer to Atalanta: the Bergamo club had practically purchased him for fifteen million plus three in bonuses, but then the deal fell through due to Napoli’s request to include 30% on any future resale.
Yesterday, sporting director Giovanni Manna, interviewed by DAZN before the kick-off of the match against Parma, expressed himself as follows on Folorunsho: “His is a different dynamic, he is a player that I consider important. He signed a five-year contract, then there were market dynamics and we all made choices. We will see what happens in the next few weeks, but we are complete and we will remain consistent with what we have done so far”.
