21.04 – The conference begins.
Did you expect the team to start like this?
“You work for that and hope it’s like that. The right conditions were there to do it. They could have scored three goals against Torino, Milan’s strength is beyond discussion. We faced it with personality. I want to thank my team, they gave me a great gift.”
Did the early goal give you an advantage?
“A beautiful goal, a great play that resulted in a goal. In the first half we also played the ball around, we did it well, creating several chances. In the second half, Milan had control, it was quite logical, but we didn’t take too many risks. This result is a fair reward for the lads and for what they did.”
Can you play better than you did in the first half?
“Yes, we should have ended two to zero. We could have done it with more precision. Several situations arose not only on the counterattack, but also with rapid dribbling in tight spaces. We are happy, also with the great participation of the Tardini crowd”.
Are you missing a deputy Bonny? How is Estevez?
“We are at the end of the market, I will not hear any more questions soon. We have players with different characteristics and we are also waiting for Charpentier. Nahuel has a muscular problem, but this shows us that this year we are playing at a much higher pace and there are risks”.
Could the pressing have surprised Milan?
“We tried it during the week. They often managed to get out, they have strength and speed. My team performed well, then after taking the lead Milan kept us lower and we created spaces by passing from the bottom. This match gives me and the boys a lot of indications to work on”.
