Parma, Almqvist is ambitious: “I would like to follow in the footsteps of Kulusevski here”

Pontus AlmqvistParma’s new winger, spoke today at a press conference to introduce himself to his new fans: “As soon as I heard about Parma’s interest, I immediately had the feeling that it was an interesting place for me. After the first conversations with Pecchia, I immediately had excellent feelings. He told me that if I was ready to work hard, the opportunities would come. I felt like I had known him forever, after our chat I understood that Parma was the right choice”.

Last year in Lecce you said you would have liked to repeat what Kulusevski did in Parma:
“I repeat this wish, I would really like to follow in his footsteps. I feel very good with the coach and I have the utmost confidence in him. I felt very good with D’Aversa, but I’m feeling equally good with Pecchia. I think we can do great things together”.

A great start in Lecce then some difficulties:
“It’s normal for a player to have ups and downs. At the beginning I felt very good in Lecce, then I got injured halfway through the season and I never recovered 100%. Now, however, I feel great and I’ve recovered, for me it’s a new beginning, I’m ready to start again from the beginning in Lecce”.

What kind of match do you expect against Milan?
“I want to prepare myself as best I can, I’m working hard to be at my best to be able to play with ease. We all have total faith in the coach and the team. We want to maintain the continuity of what we’ve done and we want to take to the field having fun, demonstrating our value.”
