Chelsea show Sterling the door? Shirt number removed: his ‘7’ goes to Pedro Neto

Today, Chelsea announced some changes regarding the shirt numbers for the season that has just started. And from this, too, we can draw market clues. Bluesin fact, they have assigned the number 7 shirt, which up until now has been Raheem Sterlingto the new arrival Peter Neto. A signal that seems quite clear for the former Liverpool player, practically thrown out by the London club and at the centre of transfer rumours for some time now (there has also been talk in the past of Juventus’ interest).

In the first match, against Manchester City, Pedro Neto wore the number 17 shirt, but from the next match onwards he will have the ‘7’. In the meantime, the shirt number of the latest arrival, Joao Felix, has also been announced, whose purchase was made official today. The now ex-Atletico Madrid player will wear the number 14 shirt this season. Up until now, that shirt has belonged to Trevoh Chalobah, who will now change it (or leave). Chelsea specifies that until the end of the transfer window the numbers will be subject to further changes and the definitive numbering will only be made official at the end of August.
