Inter, Zhang wants to keep Inter. Does Oaktree refinance? Otherwise it depends on the Pimco fund

Steven Zhang would like to keep Inter even after the Oaktree loan expires. It is the scenario he paints The sun 24 hours, explaining how the May 20th deadline – to return the 380 million to Oaktree – is getting closer and closer. There are several London financial firms at work, with some discussions taking place with the Pimco fund (as explained in recent weeks) but also with Oaktree: the Californian fund would have proposed the opportunity to extend the financing for another year. It remains to be seen whether at the same figures (and percentages) or not, but it will depend on the conditions.

So Zhang is one step away from refinancing. Should Oaktree be the one to refinance further, the issue would be postponed for just 365 days, until the new deadline expires. Instead, Pimco would pay 400 million euros over three years, to close the Oaktree debt and have – more or less – the same interests.

In short, a thorny situation for everyone. For Oaktree, a new one-year loan could have contraindications, as well as for Pimco which – as he explains SportMediaset – would like to wait for the new stadium. The situation has therefore not changed: on May 20th it will be known whether Inter will eventually change ownership or not. In short, it will depend on Zhang and on Oaktree.
