Still no assignment for the TV rights of Serie B. A The meeting held today did not find an agreement on the offers, deciding to publish a new offer to the market.
Audiovisual Chapter. The Assembly unanimously resolved to publish a new offer to the market regarding audiovisual rights 2024-2027, structured always “by product”. The document takes into account the numerous discussions held in recent weeks and the observations expressed by broadcasters, in addition to the opportunity to start a modern and innovative path of affirmation of the audiovisual products of the Lega B.
In this regard, the Assembly resolved, again unanimously, to launch the project to be structured together with an important international partner for the distribution of the Serie BKT championship.
During the meetings, Lega B also understood the context of the market change, profoundly changed also due to the diversion of broadcasters’ funds to the new international mega competitions. An impoverishment (not only economic) of the entire football system already widely predicted and announced for almost a year. According to Lega B, it is essential at this point that the FIGC, differently from what has been done so far, becomes the spokesperson for the requests of all federal components. All this in line with article 18 of the UEFA Statute which identifies the principle of redistribution of general revenues from football, in compliance with the principle of solidarity, in order to support reinvestment in favor of all levels and areas of the sector.
Contentious. Lega B has withdrawn from pursuing the appeal filed against the resolution with which the Federal Council had approved, last July 15, the electoral regulation. The decision was taken following the determination made on July 29, again by the FIGC Federal Council, to transform the elective assembly, already convened for next November 4, into an extraordinary assembly for the modification of the statute.
