Foscale on Milan: “I would sell Leao and Maignan, not Theo. CDK had to be waited for”

TMW Radio

The entrepreneur and CEO of the Top Player Academy, Luigi Foscalespoke during the “Piazza Affari” program on TMW Radio to talk about Milan and the future of the Rossoneri next season.

What are your thoughts on the Milan coach’s situation?
“At this moment there are various hypotheses on the table but the final decision has not been made. I would really like De Zerbi because he would represent the AC Milan player.”

Would it also be interesting to link it with the youth sector project?
“De Zerbi brings with him all the skills of a coach and is also accompanied by a whole staff that knows Milan. For me, these two aspects make him the ideal person. Obviously there are other very good coaches.”

What do you think about De Ketelaere? What should Milan do on the market?
“De Ketelaere certainly had to be waited for. If you take young players you have to give him at least two years. I would have kept him. In my opinion there are players that if you want to win you have to have and one of these is Theo Hernandez. You can’t sell if you want to try to win some trophies. Leao is a very strong player and a top player but selling him would bring a great treasure. I would sell him and Maignan, if necessary, not Theo.”

What are your thoughts on Maignan?
“He missed the initial phase of last year due to a very long injury. Even today, even though he is a very strong goalkeeper and a great man, in my opinion he could be sold.”

What do you think about the Under 23 project?
“The second team is not important, it is necessary.”

Do you think Pioli has to leave?
“We must be grateful to Pioli for the scudetto that he helped Milan win. However, after a few years the coaches reach a routine that does not bring any good to the team. In those things we need to change. Not because that coach is not good but for the time spent in a certain environment. I believe there is a need for a new cycle and Pioli too, after the one he achieved with the Rossoneri, will be able to start a great new adventure.”
