What to do with Osimhen, Chiesa and Koopmeiners? When the market goes on stand-by

Every market session has its own torments. There are negotiations that turn into soap operas. Sometimes the ending satisfies everyone, on other occasions someone is left holding the baby, desperate for not having achieved their dream. At the moment, as far as Italian football is concerned, there are three names that, daily, keep coming back. The three “fixed nails” of these very hot summer weeks are Osimhen, Chiesa and Koopmeiners… Not a day goes by without them being mentioned or there being talk of “new meetings to try to unblock the deal”… Let’s start with Osimhen. The Nigerian forces himself to smile but, probably, he is decidedly angry about the situation that has come about. The very high termination clause (130 million euros) keeps many admirers away. Those who would have the economic means to come close to that figure, namely PSG, do not seem ready for the decisive plunge. Before putting the right offer on the table (Napoli would not want to go below 100 million euros), the Parisian club has other urgent matters, namely unloading some expensive surplus players. In short, negotiations on stand-by with all due respect to Conte who, seeing Osimhen arrive at every training session, knows that Lukaku is still far away…
Thiago Motta, on the other hand, Chiesa is starting to see more and more often. From his point of view, it’s a nice sight. Less so for the club that, by now, seemed determined to say goodbye to him after four years in black and white. The blue has ended up in a dead end. The opportunities to settle in some Italian club have vanished.

Roma has chosen Soulé, Napoli has other priorities (Osimhen). Ramadani, Chiesa’s agent, is looking for a solution in the rich Premier League. Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham, maybe even Manchester United. High-profile clubs but, as of today, everything is at a standstill. Not the best for Juventus, in light of the fact that Chiesa has only one year left on his contract before being free to do what he wants on a free transfer…
And there is also Koopmeiners among the “most popular names”. The Dutchman, in reality, is calm and relaxed. If the call from the agent does not arrive to inform him of the success of the operation with Juventus, he will remain in Bergamo to play the new Champions League. In short, no borderline situation for Koop. However, it is clear that, for every footballer, Juventus represents a great opportunity (without taking anything away from the wonderful Atalanta). He too is in limbo, waiting for news…
Three different situations, three soap operas that we have been carrying on for some time. No one knows the ending of these particular summer negotiations. What is certain is that tomorrow (and in the coming days), we will hear more about Osimhen, Chiesa and Koopmeiners… For the record. The summer transfer market session for Serie A clubs 2024/2025 will end on August 31st but, in Saudi Arabia, negotiations will continue until October 6th. Be careful, maybe some soap operas could drag on until early October… Luckily, we will soon be back on the pitch, so we will have other things to think about, in addition to the summer transfer market torments…
