Interviewed by The Sports Gazettethe technical commissioner of Serbia Dragan Stojković he spoke about the new Milan defender Strahinja Pavlović: “Pavlovic is not just a defender, he is a warrior. He will be a great signing for Milan. At the European Championship he asked me for advice on his future, I told him that if he could choose then he should go to Milan. It is a top club and Serie A is the university for a defender”.
More on the player: “He has made many sacrifices in recent years, especially when he played very little in France and Belgium. He has all the characteristics of a great defender, starting with an immense character. He has great size and considerable elevation. He is good at defending in open play and is left-handed. Signing him for Milan was a bargain.”
On the area of the pitch where he will play: “In Serbia he was a third defender, while Milan defends with four, but strong players work in any formation. He is young, has a lot of room for growth and will be complete at Milan”.
