Monza, interest in Gent’s Torunarigha. Valued just over 3 million euros

Monza have shown interest in Jordan Torunarighadefender for Gent, a Jupiler League club in Belgium. Forty-four games last season, the Nigerian – with German citizenship – arrived two years ago from Hertha, finding consistency and decent performances. His contract will expire next year and for this reason he could be a valid option for Italian clubs, given that it is likely that with an offer of around 5 million euros he could change clubs as early as this summer: Monza would prefer to arrive at around 3-3.5.

Torunarigha made his debut for the Nigerian national team in 2023in October. Seventy-five minutes on the pitch against Mozambique, only to then have to miss the Africa Cup of Nations due to a physical problem with his ankle.

In recent weeks, the player has also attracted the interest of several Premier League clubs, such as West Ham and Crystal Palace. Leeds United have been interested in Torunarigha for a long time but have not yet found a solution, perhaps because of their intention to play in a top league and not in the Championship. The first offer of 3 million euros was rejected back in May. However, time has passed in the meantime and no other offers have arrived, so it is not certain that the Belgians’ position cannot change.
