Jake O’Brien is about to leave Olympique Lyon to fly to England. The Irish giant is on the verge of joining Everton for a fee of around 26 million euros. A sum that OL should not see in full due to several clauses tied to their central defender. According to Sky Sports Newsin fact, Crystal Palace benefit from a 25% sell-on clause for the Irishman and should therefore receive over 6 million euros from the player’s sale
And it doesn’t stop there. Cork City are expected to recoup another sum from the deal as a training fee for the 23-year-old defender. Despite these losses, however, O’Brien’s sale will be, whatever happens, a good deal for OL who bought him for less than a million euros last summer from Crystal Palace.
