Rome, new stop for the stadium in Petralata? Ancient artifact discovered, inspection needed

Possible new stop for the stadium Rome in Pietralata. According to reports from gazzetta.itin the area designated for the new Roma facility, a significant archaeological discovery was recently made, probably an ancient water conduit from the Roman era or an aqueduct connected to the already known ancient cistern.

This discovery, which emerged during preliminary archaeological excavations, could complicate the construction plans of the new sports facility. The Special Superintendency promptly ordered the Municipality of Rome to secure the area and planned – a date yet to be decided – an inspection by Rome technicians to evaluate the situation and make appropriate decisions. The tunnel was discovered by neighborhood committees, in particular by the Monti di Pietralata Popular Committee, who reported the discovery to the competent authorities.

Since it is not recorded in official documents, further investigation is necessary to understand the nature and history of the artefact. Interesting to note is that the tunnel was found outside the area planned for the stadium project but appears to have an internal route that extends into the area itself. Uncertainty over the exact geographic coordinates of the site adds another layer of complexity to the situation. The Superintendence therefore ordered an inspection involving all interested parties to evaluate the potential impact of the discovery on the project of the new Giallorossi stadium.
