Sebastian Esposito remains in Empoli’s sights. This was confirmed by the new sporting director of the blue club, Roberto Gemmi, during today’s press conference, in which coach Roberto De Zerbi was also presented. These are his words: “Esposito is a negotiation that has not run aground but is one of our ideas, we are evaluating and we are in no hurry”
What impression did the environment make on you? What stage are the negotiations at?
“The impact has been very positive, I know well after so much apprenticeship the hard work that awaits me. I was amazed by the passion that is there. I won’t name names, we had some chats but we are not at the stage of closing the agreement”
You talked about 2-3 reinforcements, can you tell us the priorities in terms of roles?
“The names are those that are coming out, our page is not all yet to be written. Here we have a package of young people that we will evaluate in depth, there are some guys who have done important things in lower categories. Sometimes you rack your brains, then you have the situation at home. We need to correct and amplify the page. The emergencies are in my opinion where we are clearly lacking, that is, goalkeeper, defender and attacker. We will try to close by next week, the timing of the market is complicated”
