Spain, Cucurella: “Hand? A red card was missing for Kroos, but we didn’t complain”

There are two days left until the first of the two semi-finals of Euro 2024: France and Spain will face each other on Tuesday night to secure a place in the final. Marc Cucurella he spoke at the press conference to talk about the match, here are his words, reported by AS.

France wants the ball little. What will be the plan to win?
“We will have to be very focused. When we attack, it will be important to pay attention to preventive coverage. If we are attentive and recover the ball quickly, we have many possibilities.”

Regarding the alleged handball: how did you experience it?

“The ball hit my hand, but when I saw the referee I was calm. If the experts and the referee say it’s not a handball, then it’s not a handball.”

France has very fast players.

“It doesn’t matter how fast they are, if we have the ball we can counter them well. Germany had Musiala, Sané… But the important thing is that if we have the ball we can hurt them.”

Would you like to return to La Liga?
“I would stop speaking English for a while (laughs, ed.). But I’m happy here. I’m in a nice city to live in for a few years, which is London. And I don’t think about anything else.”

Do you personally think that the handball was punishable?
“I am a player and I don’t get involved in these things. But if the referees said it wasn’t a handball, I say it wasn’t a handball. I understand that it was a bit of a dubious move. But I think if Germany had won, it wouldn’t have been talked about. We could have also complained about the fact that he didn’t send off Kroos. In the end we won and that’s the important thing.”
