The super performance of the Milan striker was not enough for the Portuguese to overcome France in the quarter-finals, with a defeat on penalties that sealed their elimination. This is Leao’s message on social media the day after the defeat in Germany: “Great pride in being Portuguese and for everything we have done in this competition, clearly disappointed not to have gone further but with the certainty that the future will be bright.
