Wieffer introduces himself: “Brighton have been following me for a long time. I play as a number 6 but also box to box”

Matthew Wiefferfresh from his engagement at Brighton after leaving Feyenoord, he can’t wait to make his Premier League debut. A competition that every footballer dreams of setting foot in at least once: “Yes, of course it has always been a dream to play in the Premier League, at high intensity, and I have always been used to playing at the highest levels”, the first statements released to the official channels of the Seagulls.

Why Brighton and not other teams, given the interest and offers received?
“A couple of things. He had been following me for a while (Brighton, ed.), then the way of playing, the club, the place…where it’s nice to live. I also know a couple of players, but I already knew that.”

Will the other Dutch players in the squad help you settle in?
“Yes, I spoke to some of them and they told me directly that there are good people, it’s a nice place to live, in addition to the possibility of growing very well as a footballer. So I’m already looking forward to the next season.”

What are your best qualities and what is your ideal position on the pitch?
“I think my best position is as a number ‘6’, I can also play box to box, but I prefer to play as a ‘6’. My quality is to participate in the build-up, play a lot with the ball forward and with one touch, I like it a lot. Of course you have to win a lot of duels and I think these are my qualities. I think most of my qualities are the best.”
