Below is the official statement: “Deyovaisio Zeefuik will continue to wear the blue and white shirt of Hertha BSC in the 2024/25 season. The Dutchman signed a new annual contract with the club on Monday and will keep his number 42 shirt for next season.
“Deyo impressed in various roles last season with consistent performances and improved the team with his intensity, enthusiasm and dynamism. We are therefore pleased that we have decided to continue working together,” explained sporting director Benjamin Weber. Zeefuik himself is also happy to stay for another season and cites several key factors in his decision. “I am happy to be here and I really feel the trust of Benny and Zecke. Hertha is a great club with excellent facilities, but for me the fans were just as important. I read all their comments asking me to stay felt proud to read them.
The 26-year-old joined the capital club from FC Groningen in the summer of 2020. The Amsterdam-born full-back has made a total of 56 appearances for the Old Lady so far, scoring once and providing one assist. The defender also spent loan spells at Blackburn Rovers and Hellas Verona. Last season he made a total of 21 first-team appearances and will expect many more in the future.”
