Despite the four goals and one assist in eleven appearances for SPAL in the second half of the season Massimo Zilli he is preparing to return to Cosenza with whom he has another year of contract. In fact, the Estense club has decided not to buy the center forward born in 2002, despite the public pushing in the opposite direction.
The president explained the reason, without definitively closing the door on a return Joe Tacopina during today’s press conference: !I like Zilli and Dalmonte, but do you know how much a player like Zilli costs SPAL? It is an operation worth almost €500 thousand and an investment of this type would have reduced our operating margin on the market. I like Zilli as a player, I have great respect for him also on a personal level, but he has a significant cost and I cannot choose and determine a significant cost on behalf of the sporting director and the coach.”
However, the Este number one then added another phase which smacks of an opening if the cost of the player’s price tag were to drop: “He is still on the market, in this case we can talk about it again if the coach and sporting director want to”.
