Dumfries-Theo against again: after the sparks of the derby they compete in Leipzig

It’s time for the Madonnina derby directly from Leipzig with the match between Holland and France: on one side Denzel Dumfries, on the other Théo Hernandez. Two players who certainly don’t love each other and who have inflamed the matches between Milan and Inter in recent seasons. Particularly in the last derby, which gave Inter the second star. The two were the protagonists of a saloon episode in injury time with the two at each other’s throats for a long time with their teammates trying laboriously to separate them.

A rivalry degenerated into the banner displayed by the Dutchman during Inter’s championship celebration. A banner representing the Frenchman tied on a leash. Episode which led the Prosecutor’s Office to open a case against Dumfries for having broken Article 4, which obliges members to respect loyalty, correctness and probity in the sporting field. Dumfries settled and paid a fine of 4,000 euros, as did Inter.

In recent days the two players have thrown water on the fire: “What happened that day happens. If I meet him I greet him without problems” declared Théo who, with Maignan and Giroud, shares the Bleus dressing room with the Nerazzurri Marcus Thuram and Benjamin Pavard. Dumfries himself expressed his opinion on the episode: “I don’t feel any hatred towards him” but at the same time “I don’t think we’ll ever go to dinner”. The winger, together with Stefan de Vrij, defends the colours oranje with AC Milan player Reijnders.

Dumfries and Théo were the protagonists of a good debut match at the European Championships and they will most likely play as starters this evening. And without Mbappé, who in the best case scenario will start from the bench, even more so the match could be decided on that flank.
