Final result: Bologna-Juventus 3-3
BOLOGNA
Skorupski 6.5 – Small shiver down my spine on that dangerous free kick deflected and then freed by Calafiori. In the second half he puts his gloves on Rabiot’s venomous left foot, he extends on Chiesa but it’s not enough. He can only admire Milik’s prowess, he could have done something more on Yildiz.
Posch 6.5 – Good cadet. To favor Odgaard he allows himself few forays forward. He prefers order and punctuality of interventions, Chiesa almost never worries him.
Lucumì 5.5 – The personality with which he juggles here and there in the middle of the pitch. A rock in defense, as in the providential closure on Vlahovic’s ready tap-in. But that horrendous smear on Chiesa is a red pencil and in fact reopens the game.
Calafiori 8 – The sudden goal placed under the crossbar, then he also allows himself the dig on Szczesny and mimics it with the gesture. He’s a bit like Totti, but he’s a defender. Juve will have to dig into their wallets if they want to sign him, Spalletti already has his name lined up for the European Championships. From 75′ Beukema 5 – Entering superficially to give the 3-3 ball to Yildiz could have been saved.
Kristiansen 6.5 – Substance and maximum effectiveness, Cambiaso catches him from behind only once. Mean and clean as required of a full-back.
Freuler 7 – Szczesny’s miracle takes away the joy of scoring. He often lowers himself to dictate the playing times with Olympic calm. Gasperini School, Thiago Motta maturation. From 76′ El Azzouzi 6 – He enters and the final chaos overwhelms him, like the rest of his companions.
Aebischer 7 – Biting Locatelli’s ankles is the evening’s favorite pastime. Retrieve a myriad of balloons. He will also get yellow on Yildiz, but the slip on Chiesa is worth as much as a goal. Savior of the country.
Ndoye 6 – The ease with which he placed the ball on Urbanski’s head to make it 2-0 was remarkable, his third assist of the season. When he starts off at speed he turns into an inexhaustible motor, Gatti and Bremer have to block him with the rough ones. In the long run, however, he melts, like a candle.
Urbanski 7 – The 2-0 goal won’t go to him, but how he plays the role of all-rounder Manny. Finisher, raider, director when necessary. Along the way he deflates like a balloon. From 70′ Fabbian 6 – To have spare bolts like that. Honestly not to blame for the deflection on Milik’s free kick.
Odgaard 6 – Fresh from renewal, the desire to devour the pitch and the ball to leave their mark can be seen a mile away. So much will and clarity, he just needs to straighten his aim. From 70′ Orsolini 6 – Twenty minutes in shock, he suffers Juve’s comeback due to other people’s mistakes.
Castro 7.5 – There was great curiosity to see him make his debut as a starter. It takes him 11 minutes to pierce Juve with an unstoppable header. Hot blood on the pitch in the constant battle for every ball. Passed with full marks. From 63′ Saelemaekers 6.5 – When Peperino enters, he unleashes Bremer’s wrath and spreads across the entire attack front.
Thiago Motta 6.5 – A celebration of the authentic masterpiece made in Bologna is a must, but it’s a shame about the tension at the end and the comeback granted to Juventus. As they say, a draw and a draw, but great regret for what we did for over 70 minutes.
JUVENTUS
Szczesny 6.5 – Avoids the worst in the thirteenth minute, preventing Bologna’s 3-0 which would have led to almost certainly disastrous consequences.
Cats 5 – He is not guilty of any particular errors but participates in the collective disaster and says goodbye to the match at 0-3 to give space to Yildiz. From 57′ Yildiz 7.5 – Super entry into the game: one p.
Bremer 5 – Contributes to the defensive disaster that leads to 2-0 with the light and careless marking that sees two opponents attacking the ball and zero opponents able to stop them.
Danilo 4.5 – The symbol of the evening is Castro-Urbanski’s goal: two opponents dominate him in what should be his penalty area, his territory. The difference in desire is too evident, his team already seems to be on holiday. In the second half he chases Castro all over the field, perhaps to set an example, but things don’t improve.
Cambiaso 5 – The festival of Juventus defensive horrors begins by giving the ball to Freuler in the area: Skorupski postpones the goal for half a minute. From 46′ Weah 6 – Gatti’s exit relegates him to the backcourt, a task which he nevertheless carries out diligently.
Miretti 5 – He risks a lot with a high leg intervention on Posch that many would have judged to be red, but not Ayroldi. However, he has the merit of giving the team a wake-up call. From 46′ Alcaraz 6 – Good entry for the Argentine, who puts pressure on the opponent’s midfield and stands out for the determination lacking in most of his teammates.
Locatelli 5.5 – Opaque, like his direction. He often bends down to receive the ball, but Bologna’s 100mph aggression makes any attempt to build a game futile. He participates in the final assault, even shooting in a dangerous way.
Rabiot 5.5 – At least he tries: he scores the team’s first shot on goal in the second half, however showing more bite than many of his teammates. From 71′ Fagioli sv.
Iling Jr 5 – One of the worst on the pitch in the first half shock: listless, distracted, gutted. Odgaard sinks as and when he wants in the right lane, the Englishman never holds him. In the second half he takes the measure of his opponent and concedes much less.
Church 6.5 – Hibernating for half an hour, he shows up with an acceleration and a horrible free-kick, with an unsuccessful scheme that starts a Bologna counterattack. He earns a pass with the goal to make it 1-3: on this occasion he is cool in taking advantage of a bad mistake by Lucumì. Shortly after, a super insertion was blocked at the last minute by Aebischer.
Vlahovic 5 – He doesn’t touch the ball for long stretches of the game and certainly never shoots on goal. However, it is difficult to attribute too many demerits to him, given the solitude in front of him. From 63′ Milik 7 – His left-footed bomb puts Juve back on track perhaps even more than Chiesa’s goal: from then on Juve gets into the mindset of being able to win it.
Trainer: Paolo Montero 6 – Curious how tonight’s team appeared soulless for a full half: evidently, from the point of view of determination at least, the problem wasn’t Allegri. A thankless task awaits him, avoiding a bad impression in a season with no more objectives: tonight the mission was successful, with a thrill. He gets all the substitutions right, or perhaps makes several formation choices wrong.
