Robin van Persie he is still completing his training process to obtain his UEFA A coaching license and in the meantime he already has a bench to start from. The former striker, a legend of Dutch football, is ready to start his coaching career at 40 and will do so in his homeland, with Heerenveen. The club itself announced it:
“SC Heerenveen have appointed Robin van Persie as their new manager. The 40-year-old coach signs a contract that commits him to the club for two seasons. This will be the first head coaching job for the Dutch all-time top scorer,” read the official statement published by Heerenveen today on their website.
Currently tenth in the Eredivisie, Heerenveen are aiming for a better position in the next championship. Until now, van Persie had not yet coached first-team, but had been part of Arne Slot’s staff at Feyenoord.
