Giroud bids farewell to Milan, who will soon welcome the new 9: two candidates

Olivier Giroud announced on MilanTV his farewell to Milan at the end of the current season: “I’m here to tell you that I will play my last two games at Milan. I will continue my career, but in MLS. I am very, very proud of everything that I have done in Milan in these three years. It’s the right time to say it. Sorry, I’m a little emotional. My story with Milan ends this year, but Milan will remain in my heart forever.” In thanking the Rossoneri number 9 for what he has done in the last three years, it is obvious to then turn our gaze to who could be Milan’s next number 9…

Zirkzee on pole
The favorite of the Rossoneri management has long been Joshua Zirkzee, whose cost is around 60 million euros. Claudio Fenucci, CEO of Bologna, gave an interview to ‘Sky Sport’ in which he also spoke about the future of the Dutch striker: “Joshua Zirkzee has a particular contract, he is also the arbiter of some decisions”. One of these, certainly, will concern his future: many want him, but Milan wants him more than anyone. Will it be enough to convince you?

The Sesko clause
Also present in the list of Milan managers is Benjamin Sesko, a center forward born in 2003 for Leipzig, who scored 16 goals in total this season. The Slovenian, who in recent years was seen as one of the most interesting offensive talents around, has different characteristics from Zirkzee (he is 195 cm tall), but is still very popular in via Aldo Rossi since he wore the Salzburg shirt (in Austria played together with Okafor). According to Sky Germany, thanks to Sesko’s good performances in the second half of the season, the release clause has now risen to €65 million.
