Now it’s official: Atalanta-Fiorentina once the championship is over, it will be played on 2 June at 6pm

Now it’s official, the challenge between Atalanta And Florentine postponed last March 17 due to the illness and subsequent death of Viola’s general manager Joe Barone, it will be recovered once the championship has concluded, i.e. Sunday 2 June 2024. From the moment the match was cancelled, problems had emerged regarding the possible recovery date, thanks the paths of the two teams in the Italian Cup (with Atalanta then reaching the final on 15 May) and in Europe: Atalanta reached the Europa League final on 22 May in Dublin, Fiorentina the Conference League final in program on May 29th in Athens.

In the recent past this eventuality had sparked several controversies, given the non-contemporaneity with the teams fighting with Atalanta and Fiorentina. Above all, it was Roma, forced to recover the final match against Udinese on 25 April, who contested this eventuality. But the League, thanks to a congested calendar, did not have any other slots available.

This is the note with which the Lega Serie A confirmed the programming once the championship has concluded: “We inform you that the Atalanta-Fiorentina match, valid for the 29th matchday of the Serie A Tim championship and not played on 17 March 2024, will be resumed Sunday 2 June 2024 at 6pm”. The challenge, as initially planned, will remain exclusive viewing on DAZN.
