Although the championship has not yet finished, the top two in the class – Roma and Juventus – have already started to warm up their engines for next season by making the first signing of 2024/25 which curiously comes from Germany for both.
The Juventus club, which is expected to announce the name of the next coach at the end of the month, has in fact recruited a reinforcement from Hoffenheim for the right defense lane where this season the one has often been diverted Martina Lenzini who was born central (a role he holds permanently in blue) given the difficulties of Federica Cafferata and the farewell of Amanda Nilden. The name is that of the class of 2000 Paulina Krumbiegel, who has signed a contract for the next two years, a very flexible player who, in addition to being used on the right lane, also as a full-back, as well as in the middle of the field covering the role of midfielder. The footballer also already boasts 10 appearances, with four goals, for the German national team.
Roma’s response was instead the Austrian one Verana Hanshaw, a left-footed fullback born in ’94, who in the last six seasons has worn the shirt of Eintracht Frankfurt – who eliminated Juve in the Women’s Champions League – collecting 112 appearances with four goals to his name. Also in this case she is a national team since she boasts over 100 appearances with the red and white shirt. Hanshaw has speed and good acceleration which allows her to push a lot into the left lane to accompany the action, overlap and cross from the back, but she also has excellent defensive skills especially in one-on-one situations.
Two first movements, well ahead of their time, which are already lighting up the upcoming summer market and which – with these assumptions – will probably deliver numerous shocks.
