Landucci: “My half duck in the final with Juventus is always remembered”

Marco Landucci, assistant coach of Max Allegri at Juventus, was present with some former Juventus players from the past (for example Sergio Brio and Domenico Marocchino also spotted) at the presentation of the book ‘Una storia bella. My life in two times’ by Giancarlo Alessandrelli.

Landucci says: “The role of the goalkeeper is difficult, in recent years, it has changed a lot, the rules have changed and he is also chosen for how he plays with his feet. You are the last, after you there is only the door. It’s a particular role, with great responsibility and it’s also very difficult because when you score goals it goes down in history. As happened to Alessandrelli, I conceded a goal in the final against Juventus, I was at Fiorentina, in the UEFA Cup, from 25 metres. I scored a goal, it was a half duck, and they always remembered that goal there. The mistakes and goals you concede remain. I had won a wonderful UEFA Cup but that mistake was thrown in my face for many years. My coach said I don’t even write the goalkeeper. However, when you have them strong they bring you points, I side in favor of the goalkeepers.”

Landucci continues and concludes: “For a few years I worked as a goalkeeper coach for many. I was very young and I had the legend of Zoff, last week I saw him in Rome and came to visit us. He is a wonderful person. Seeing a legend who saves and you’re together it’s wonderful. He was happy to be with the boys and he gave a nice speech to the boys that not everyone knew because it’s been a few years and for me it was a thrill for all of us to see it. It was another football and I’m I grew up with that football there that I miss a bit.”
