Today the Juventus transfer man, Cristiano Giuntoli, flew to London and addressed some transfer discussions in the English capital. Among the paths on which the Old Lady is trying to advance is the one that leads to the multifaceted Portuguese defender Renato Veiga (21 years old), currently playing for Chelsea but is about to leave in January.
The Blues have opened up to a loan transfer, yes, but at not exactly easy prices. In essence, Chelsea’s request for the transfer on a temporary basis, only as a loan charge, is approximately 1 million euros per month between now and June. This, even before the redemption (to be established, with Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks it had been set at around 30 million euros) is the first obstacle that Giuntoli will have to overcome, a request worth around 5 million. The parties are working to understand whether the current distances can be bridged.
Meanwhile last night Veiga was not even present on the bench in the Premier League match which Chelsea won 3-1 against Wolverhampton. And at the end of the match coach Enzo Maresca justified his decision as follows: “Leaving him out was a technical choice”.
