Belgium has decided to rely on the Icelandic Elisabet Gunnarsdottirborn in ’76, to start a new cycle with the women’s national team after ending the Ives Serneels era which lasted 14 years. The new coach, who has signed a contract until 2027 and brings with her the Swede Magnus Palsson and the Belgian Lenie Onzia as assistants, arrives at the helm of the Red Flames after his experiences with Valur, with which he won four national titles in Iceland, and with Kristianstands in Sweden including the role of coach of the Icelandic Under 21 team in 2005-06 and deputy assistant of the senior Iceland team.

Elisabet has an excellent CV, she knows international football and with her experience she can take us to a higher level.”
